What we do

Quote 1

We think that in-person training just works better because people actually focus. When you’re in a training room, you can’t sneak off to check emails or pretend you’re paying attention while doing three other things. There’s a natural accountability that comes from being physically present – the trainer can see if you’re lost or confused, and can adjust on the fly based on how the group is responding. We’ve all been in those online sessions where half the group has clearly checked out, but it’s much harder to zone out when everyone’s in the same space.

But we believe the biggest advantage is the social side of things. Face-to-face training lets people connect in ways that Zoom calls just can’t match. We’ve experienced first-hand those spontaneous conversations during breaks, the lunch chats where someone shares a brilliant workaround they use, or the collective “aha!” moment when the group figures something out together. You build actual relationships with your fellow participants – they’re not just names in little boxes on a screen. These connections stick around long after the course ends, giving you a network of colleagues you can reach out to when you hit a problem months down the line. From our own experience as participants, learning alongside others is simply more engaging than sitting alone at a desk. You remember not just what you learned, but the experience of learning it together.

While online learning has its place, we just prefer being around people in real time.

Seminars and Workshops

Every individual learns differently, and every organisation has its own priorities. At Arboretum Training Ltd, we design seminars and workshops around your Private Client team’s actual needs. Whether you’re looking to update and sharpen your teams private client skills, build confidence where it’s needed most, or fill those niggling knowledge gaps that keep cropping up, we’ll create something that truly works for you.

Flexibility is key: Pick your topics, choose the level of detail, and tell us how long you’ve got — anything from a focused 45-minute session to a proper half-day deep dive. Whatever you need, we’ll make sure it’s relevant, practical, and worth everyone’s time.

We believe training should be genuinely engaging. Our sessions are interactive, practical, and designed to get people talking, working together, and — just as importantly — enjoying themselves.

Support Services

Learning doesn’t end when the training session does. We’re here with follow-up support via email and telephone for those “actually, now that I’m back at my desk…” moments that always seem to pop up. Whether it’s working through a tricky scenario, clarifying something that didn’t quite click, or just getting that bit of reassurance when applying new knowledge to real cases, we’re happy to help.

For firms where private client work is more of an occasional thing, or sits with just one person or a small team, booking a full training session might feel like overkill. That’s where our flexible consultancy support comes in — available as a one-off when needed, or through a subscription for regular access.

It’s about getting the right help at the right time, in whatever way works best for your firm.
